My Sharing of the Trip to Lanzhou, China

In the hot summer of August, I went to Lanzhou with Oxfam, and I gained a lot from this trip. Lanzhou , located in the western part of China in the province of Gansu , has a significantly different lifestyle and eating culture from Hong Kong . Most people are ethnic minorities and their religion is Islam. After taking about two hours to travel from the city of Lanzhou , we visited Dongxian County , a place where the Dongxiang people live.
The weather there is very dry, with a severe lack of rain that has led to many bad harvests. This harsh living condition is so difficult to imagine for people living in the city. Villagers are so strong and brave to face the natural environment.
The 'simple life' of the villagers gave me a fresh feeling and a 'return to nature'. It also inspired me to re-think my own life, and the value of life. Even a small amount of money from us can really change the lives of many people. There are many such cases to be found in Dongxian. Oxfam gives an emphasis on the participation of the villagers in designing projects in different places, and this is effective and important. People in Dongxian like eating mutton and with the suitable environment there, Oxfam provides young sheep to villagers through a micro-credit project. Villagers can gain income through selling sheep at the market.
In fact, Gansu has many special local products such as some famous Chinese medicine and the juicy Yellow River melon. It may help economic development if they can be exported to Hong Kong or overseas.
We also visited marginalised communities and the Child Education Programme which targets out-of-school children in the city of Lanzhou . Oxfam and its local partner, Lanzhou Muslim Association for Culture and Education, are very committed to do the projects there. One of the families we visited has 6 children (5 girls and 1 boy, the youngest of them all). They had moved from their village to the city to earn a livelihood and to escape the penalty of having too many children under the government law. It seems boys are more important than girls, and this traditional thinking can only be changed through Education.

Occasionally all of us get sick, including the ideal people! Perhaps it's not an illness which is stopping you moving forward, but instead you've wounded yourself, and you just can't get out of the house. Juicing lacks to become neglected! Use whatever you decide to have in the house, or request a next door neighbor when they have some products you can use. Obse8ighve

Use natural tooth whiteners, like baking soda, orange peels, or citrus peels. Mixing any of these with a little sea salt will make a great cheap tooth teeth whitening merchandise. Make sure to rinse the mouth out extensively right after employing some of these methods, because the harsh acids can harm your the teeth. Matrimo5656
